Emmet O’Connor holds a 1st-Class BMus in Composition from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where he studied piano with Shirin Tobin and composition with Dr. David Bremner. He regularly performs as a classical and jazz soloist & accompanist and is an experienced ceremonial/liturgical musician, working with many Dublin-based choirs, both sacred and secular, and currently works with the the Forget-Me-Nots, Mellow Tonics, and MISA choirs. Emmet is a founding member, composer, writer and rapper of Irish collective ReGroovanation, who blend hip-hop, folk and classical to create a politically charged, highly authentic mish-mash of poetry and RnB. As a composer, his work has been performed by the DIT Symphony Orchestra, Concorde Ensemble, Ulster Jazz Ensemble, members of the RTE Symphony Orchestra and the Athenry Youth and Horizon Orchestras.
